EGYPT VIA THE NILE VALLEY

First part of the morning, breakfast and the visits begin with the visit of the PYRAMIDS OF THE GUIZA PLATEAU: KHUFU, KHAFRE and MENKAURE, the only wonders of Antiquity that are still standing. The pyramids of Giza occupy a prominent place in the list of the greatest tourist attractions on the planet. 

We also visit the CELEBRE SPHINX AND ITS SOLAR TEMPLE. The enigmatic sphinx has a height of about 20 meters and a little over 70 meters in length, it is endowed with a human head and a lion’s body, for the ancient Egyptians it refers to the unit of the intelligence and strength in the same figure.

Later, transfer to visit SAQQARA, one of the most fascinating historical and archaeological areas in all of Egypt. The site is dominated by the famous Step Pyramid of King Djoser, considered the world’s first pyramid and the oldest large stone structure.

In addition, in Saqqara we visit other small pyramids such as the funerary complex of UNAS AND THE PYRAMID OF TETI, along with the tombs of some prestigious nobles and rulers that almost reach the level of the Kagemny.

Our last stop of the day will be to MEMPHIS, the ancient and first capital of Upper and Lower Egypt. The city was founded by Narmer, the first pharaoh of Egypt.

Back to the hotel for the overnight.

In the morning, breakfast and transfer to visit the GREAT EGYPTIAN MUSEUM (GEM), the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization. The structure will be only 2 kilometers from the three pyramids of Giza.

Then, transfer to the Citadel of Saladin and The Mosque of Mohammed Ali. It is known as the Alabaster Mosque. The Citadel is a peak of history, this magnificent structure has witnessed numerous historical events throughout history.

Afternoon, we will visit the COPTIC CAIRO, one of the most unique places in the city. There, we will visit the CHURCH OF SAINT SERGIUS, known as the Cave Church, where the Holy Family was hidden during his flight to Egypt.

Back to the hotel and overnight.

In the morning, breakfast and transfer to the city of Minya, about 240 kilometers south of Cairo. It is a historical masterpiece, the result of the evolution and stratification of ancient civilizations, this city is today one of the most extraordinary destinations in Egypt.

On the way, visit the MEIDUM PYRAMID, called by the Arabs the False Pyramid. It was one of the first attempts to build pyramids and it is one of the most mysterious. It is located in the heart of the desert of the governorate of Beni Suef.

Upon arrival, visit the TUNA EL GEBEL complex, with the temple of the sacred monkeys, the tomb of Petosiris, the tomb of Isadora and the spectacular underground galleries, one of the most beautiful in all of Egypt.

Transfer to the hotel, check in and overnight.

Breakfast and early departure to visit BENI HASSAN, it is an archaeological site that has a necropolis of ancient Egypt used from the 21st century to the 17th century BC. The necropolis has 39 tombs, only 4 are accessible to the public.

Then, visit to the CITY OF AKHETATÓN in Middle Egypt or as TELL EL AMARNA is called today, it was the capital of the reign of Pharaoh Akhenaten, when it was founded by Akhenaten was the center of worship of the god Aton.

There, the tombs of the nobles will be accessed with scenes of the adoration of the solar disk, the royal tomb and the remains of the temples built to this divinity.

Also, transfer to the city of Suhag, it is one of the provinces of the southern region of Upper Egypt that has a deep-rooted history.

Breakfast and departure to visit the TEMPLE OF ABYDOS or the temple of Seti I, built by Pharaoh Seti I and his son Ramses II. This temple has a unique “L”-shaped design upside down. It also contains the most complete list of kings and gods in Egypt. The Temple contains 7 shrines dedicated to 7 Gods: Osiris, Isis, Horus, Amon Ra, Ra Hor Akhty and Ptah, and Seti I as a deified King. In this temple you can also find the best-preserved reliefs and painted texts of the 18th Dynasty.

Then, transfer to Dendera to visit the TEMPLE OF THE GODDESS HATHOR. Considered one of the most beautiful and best preserved temples in Egypt. The entire complex covers an area of 40,000 square meters and is limited by a wall of adobe bricks.

Our last stop of the day will be to the city of Luxor, it is one of the famous cities in southern Egypt.

Transfer to the West Bank to discover the real world of the monarchy of ancient Egypt, its tombs and funerary temples.

First, we visit the mysterious VALLEY OF THE KINGS, this great necropolis contains more than 60 tombs of pharaohs and nobles of the New Kingdom, one of the most prosperous periods in the history of ancient Egypt, (the visit includes 3 tombs, the tomb of Tutankhamun is excluded).

Then, we visit the TEMPLE OF HATSHEPSUT known as the Temple of Deir el Bahari, it is an extraordinary monument capable of dazzling its visitors. It was designed by the architect Sennenmut. It is dedicated to Hatshepsut, the only woman who reigned in Egypt for a long period. The temple has a part excavated in the rock and another area on the outside formed by three terraces.

To finish the West Bank, we visit the ruins of the giant COLOSSI OF MEMNON, they are two statues representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III and that were built to preside over his funerary temple on the western bank of the Nile. They were built 3,400 years ago and show the pharaoh in a pose of relaxation, with his hands resting on his knees and with his eyes set on the rising sun.

Transfer to the cruise, check in and lunch.

After lunch, transfer to the East Bank to visit the LUXOR TEMPLE when it is illuminated, it is one of the most spectacular temples in Egypt and the most important monument in Luxor and is dedicated to Amon (god of the wind). It was built by the pharaohs Amenhotep III and Ramses II, the first built the inner part and the second the outer enclosure, adding the facade, the colossi and the obelisks.

Back to the boat, dinner and overnight on board.

Breakfast and transfer to the East Bank to visit the TEMPLE OF KARNAK, dedicated to the cult of the god Amon of Thebes, the largest temple complex in the world. For centuries, this place was the most influential Egyptian religious center. There was also a sacred lake, numerous temples and smaller chapels, and multiple rooms and warehouses located within the walls that surrounded the main enclosure.

Return to the boat, lunch and navigation to Edfu.

Breakfast on board and transfer in horse carriages to the TEMPLE OF EDFU, dedicated to the god Horus, is the largest after the Temple of Karnak and one of the best preserved in the country. The walls of the temple have rich inscriptions that provide important information about the time of its construction, providing details not only about the temple, but also about mythology, religion and the way of life in Ancient Egypt.

Back to the boat and lunch.

Enjoy the boat and relax while sailing to Kom Ombo.

Afternoon, arrival at Kom Ombo and transfer on foot to visit the TEMPLE OF KOM OMBO and the Corcodilo Museum, built under the orders of Ramses II, the only one dedicated to two divinities: the gods Sobek and Horus the Elder, and consists of two entrances, two hypostyle rooms and two exactly the same shrines. In the temple of Kom Ombo you can visit the chapel of Hator and see mummies of crocodiles, clay coffins and spectacular reliefs on the walls.

BAck to the boat and sailing to Aswan, one of the most popular cities in Egypt.

Early morning, picnic breakfast and transfer to visit the TEMPLE OF ABU SIMBEL.

The temple of Abu Simbel, a complex made up of two temples carved into the rock, one of them is dedicated to Ramses II and the other to Nefertari, his first wife and his favorite. The complex is made up of two temples. The Great Temple to the gods Ra-Horakty, Ptah and Ramses II deified, and the Minor Temple to the goddess Hathor and Queen Nefertari, Ramses’ favorite wife. The temple has four colossi sitting flanking the entrance, two on each side, representing Ramses II on his throne, under these gigantic figures there are smaller statues representing the enemies conquered by Ramses. There are more statues representing several family members and some protective gods and symbols of power. Passing between the two colossi you access the interior of the temple, which is decorated with engravings that show Ramses and Nefertari paying homage to the gods.

After this fascinating visit, back to the boat and have a lunch.

After lunch, take a private ride in FELUCCA, a traditional Egyptian sailboat along the Nile River. While sailing on the Nile you will be able to visit Elephantine Island, an ivory shopping center (one of the oldest), Kitchener Island, with a magnificent botanical garden.

Breakfast and disembarkation.

Transfer to visit the TEMPLE OF PHILAE or as it is known as The Pearl of the Nile, dedicated to the goddess Isis, goddess of love. The temple located on a separate island on the Nile River, where, according to the myth, the goddess Isis took refuge and rebuilds her beloved Osiris when he was killed by his brother and dismembered, distributing his parts throughout the country. After the construction of the Aswan dam, the temple was submerged in the water of the Nile and thanks to a proposal from UNESCO, recovering thousands of artifacts that were underwater and moved stone by stone to its current location, the island of Agilkia.

On the island you can see several constructions among which the imposing Temple dedicated to Isis especially stands out, although you can also see other buildings of great value such as the Temple of Hathor, the Door of Trajan, or the pylons that are at the entrance of the complex.

Transfer to Aswan airport to take the flight back to Cairo.

Arrival in Cairo and meet by the representative of TRAVOR.

Transfer to enjoy KHAN EL-KHALILI, the most famous market in Cairo. Walking through its labyrinthine streets is like visiting an authentic open-air museum. It is the perfect place to buy souvenirs and reproductions of objects from Ancient Egypt.

Also, we will tour the CALLE DE AL MOEZ, one of the most unique in the city with jewels of world Islamic architecture.
