ITINERARY

Day 01: THE ORIGIN - CAIRO( ARRIVAL: CAIRO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT)

Arrival at Cairo and meet by TRAVOR representative at the airport, the representative will help you with the visa procedures.

Transfer to the hotel, the representative will assist you with a smooth check-in and overnight.

Day 02: CAIRO(PYRAMIDS OF GIZA - GREAT SPHINX AND SOLAR TEMPLE - SAQQARA - PYRAMID OF UNAS AND TETI - MEMPHIS) HALF BOARD

First part of the morning, breakfast and our visits begin with the visit of THE PYRAMIDS OF THE GUIZA PLATEAU: KHUFU, KHAFRE and MENKAURE, the only wonders of Antiquity that still stand. The pyramids of Giza occupy a prominent place on the list of the largest tourist attractions on the planet.

Also, we visited THE GREAT SPHINX AND ITS SOLAR TEMPLE. The enigmatic sphinx has a height of about 20 meters and a little more than 70 meters in length, it is endowed with a human head and a lion’s body, something that for the ancient Egyptians gathered intelligence and strength in the same figure.

Then, transfer to visit SAQQARA, one of the most fascinating historical and archaeological areas in all of Egypt. The place is dominated by the famous stepped pyramid of King Zoser, considered the first pyramid in the world and the oldest large stone structure.

In Saqqara we visit other small pyramids such as THE FUNERARY COMPLEX OF SOME AND THE PYRAMID OF TETI, along with the tombs of some prestigious nobles and rulers who almost reached the level of Kagemny.

Our last stop of the day will be to MEMPHIS, the first capital of Upper and Lower Egypt. The city was founded by Narmer, the first pharaoh of Egypt.

Day 03: CAIRO(GREAT EGYPTIAN MUSEUM (GEM) - CITADEL OF SALADIN AND THE MOSQUE OF MOHAMMED ALI - CAIRO COPTO - CHURCH OF SAINT SERGIUS) HALF BOARD

In the morning, breakfast and transfer to visit the GREAT EGYPTIAN MUSEUM (GEM), the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization. The structure will be only 2 kilometers from the three pyramids of Giza.

Then, transfer to the CITADEL OF SALADIN AND THE MOSQUE OF MOHAMMED ALI, It is known as the Alabaster Mosque. The Citadel is a peak of history, this magnificent structure has witnessed numerous historical events throughout history.

Afternoon, we will tour the CAIRO COPTO, one of the most unique places in the city. There, we will visit the CHURCH OF SAN SERGIO, known as the Church of the Cave, where the Holy Family was hidden during his flight to Egypt.

Day 04: CAIRO - WHITE DESERT(BAWITI - BLACK DESERT - THE HEIZ - CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN AND THE AGABAT AREA - WHITE DESERT) FULL BOARD

Breakfast and departure from the hotel to the Oasis of BAHARIYA, located 380 km from Cairo, is surrounded by mountains and important water sources that give life to the oasis. It has ruins and tombs that testify to the passage of Alexander the Great through this place.

Arrival in BAWITI, capital of Bahariya.

Rest and lunch while the 4×4 cars are prepared for us to start our adventure in the desert.

Then, we will visit the BLACK DESERT, an extensive area of the western desert covered by rocks of a deep black color, a product of intense volcanic activity in distant times, which has given the area its name. In some places you can see majestic hills covered with black stones. Other parts are large plains with orange to brown terrain.

Arrival at a small oasis in EL HEIZ, next to a simple thermal water pool where you can have a refreshing bath.

Also, we visit the CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN AND THE AGABAT AREA, one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, a small rock arch that shines brightly in the sun, which makes it look like a crown decorated with thousands of colored gems in the desert.

Arrival in the WHITE DESERT which is a protected natural area, since 2002, where there are rock formations formed by wind erosion for thousands of years on gypsum, which is the material that causes its particular white color and that contrasts with the predominant yellow color in other areas of the desert.

The White Desert is part of the great western desert of Egypt and that formerly constituted an inland sea, so it is possible to find fossils of marine animals among the rocks. It is an experience never forgotten.

At night, you can see a number of stars in the sky that you can’t see anywhere else.

Dinner in the white desert, tonight you will go camping under that number of stars and sleep in tents.

Day 05: WHITE DESERT - THE DAKHLA(FARAFRA - LOCAL MUSEUM OF ONE OF THE BEDOUIN ARTISTS - DAKHLA - AL KASR - MUT) FULL BOARD

In the morning, breakfast and transfer to the oasis of FARAFRA, it is smaller than its neighbors in the Western Desert that dates back to the Pharaonic era. It was called Taha, that is, the land of the cows as mentioned in the texts of the Tribus raids from time to time. There you can enjoy a swim in a hot natural water well.

Then, we will visit a LOCAL MUSEUM OF ONE OF THE BEDUINO ARTISTS, it is the most original and suggestive place you can visit in the oasis of Farafra. This is the museum workshop of a local artist.

Also, transfer to the DAKHLA Oasis is the southernmost oasis in Egypt. It is historically located in the center of an important caravan trade route that united the Dakhla not only with the oases of Kharga and Farafra, but also with the Nile Valley in the west and so to the east.

In the Dakhla we can get to know the ancient Islamic City of AL KASR, built in the 12th century on the remains of a Roman fortress in the northwest of the oasis, where you can see the style of the houses of the Middle Ages in the Oasis, with narrow alleys that form an infinite labyrinth of corridors. On the outskirts of Al Kasr there is also a necropolis from the Greco-Roman era.

Afternoon, free time to know MUT, it is an ancient village and is considered the capital of the Oasis. The name of the town is due to the name of the ancient Egyptian goddess “Mut”, a sacred deity of the Theban Trinity.

Day 06: THE DAKHLA - KHARGA(KHARGA - MAUSOLEUM OF BASHANDI - KHARGA - TOMBS OF THE NOBLES - TEMPLE OF HIBIS) FULL BOARD

 

In the morning, breakfast and we will continue the trip to the Oasis of KHARGA, it is the largest city of the Oasis and the capital of the entire province of “el Valle Nuevo﮼.

On the way we will visit the city and the BASHANDI MAUSOLEUM, where the secret is kept between two. It is a sanctuary of the Muslim hermit, Sheikh Pasha Hindi.

Arrival in KHARGA and visit of the TOMBS OF THE NOBLES “Al Bagawat”, is one of the oldest Christian cemeteries in Egypt, decorated with Christian paintings of saints and biblical accounts.

Also, we visited the TEMPLE OF HIBIS, it is the largest and finest of the temples of the 200 years of Egypt under the Persian rulers. He was dedicated to the god Amon, his wife Mut and his son Khonsu. Nectanebo II and the Ptolemaic Kings added some annexes to the temple. On the walls of the temple, traditional scenes of making offerings to the Triad of Ammon and other gods were found and the outer walls are decorated with painted vultures and huge reliefs of Darius that greet the Egyptian gods.

Day 07: KHARGA – SUHAG(TEMPLE OF ABYDOS) HALF BOARD

Breakfast and transfer to the city of Suhag, is one of the provinces of the southern region of Upper Egypt that has a deep-rooted history.

Arrival and transfer to visit the TEMPLE OF ABYDOS, known as the Outside Temple of Seti I. It was built around 1300 BC by Seti I and his son Ramses II. It stands out especially for its fine reliefs, considered among the best in the New Kingdom.

Transfer to the hotel and check in.

Day 08: SUHAG – LUXOR(TEMPLE OF DENDERA - TEMPLE OF KARNAK - TEMPLE OF LUXOR) HALF BOARD

Breakfast and transfer to the city of Qena to visit the TEMPLE OF DENDERA considered one of the most beautiful and best preserved temples in Egypt. The entire complex covers an area of 40,000 square meters and is limited by a wall of adobe bricks.

Then, transfer to Luxor, it is one of the famous cities in southern Egypt.

Arrival and transfer to the East Bank to visit the TEMPLE OF KARNAK, dedicated to the cult of the god Amon of Thebes, the largest temple complex in the world. For centuries, this place was the most influential Egyptian religious center.

Also, there was a sacred lake, numerous temples and smaller chapels, and multiple rooms and warehouses located within the walls that surrounded the main enclosure.

Afternoon, transfer to the East Bank to visit the LUXOR TEMPLE when it is illuminated, it is one of the most spectacular temples in Egypt and the most important monument in Luxor and is dedicated to Amon (god of the wind). It was built by the pharaohs Amenhotep III and Ramses II, the first built the inner part and the second the outer enclosure, adding the facade, the colossi and the obelisks.

Day 09: LUXOR - EDFU - KOM OMBO - ASWAN(VALLE DE LOS REYES - TEMPLE OF HATSHEPSUT - COLOSSI OF MEMNON - TEMPLE OF EDFU - TEMPLE OF KOM OMBO) HALF BOARD

Breakfast and transfer to discover the real world of the monarchy of ancient Egypt, its tombs, funerary temples and its workers.

Transfer to the West Bank to see the following essential visits:

First, we visit the mysterious VALLEY OF THE KINGS, this great necropolis contains more than 60 tombs of pharaohs and nobles of the New Kingdom, one of the most prosperous periods in the history of ancient Egypt, (the visit included 3 tombs, excluding the tomb of Tutankhamun).

Then, we visit the TEMPLE OF HATSHEPSUT known as the Temple of Deir el Bahari, it is an extraordinary monument capable of dazzling its visitors. It was designed by the architect Sennenmut. It is dedicated to Hatshepsut, the only woman who reigned in Egypt for a long period. The temple has a part excavated in the rock and another area on the outside formed by three terraces.

To finish the visits of the West Bank, we visited the ruins of THE COLOSSIUS OF MEMNON, they are two statues representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III and that were built to preside over his funerary temple on the western bank of the Nile. They were built 3,400 years ago and show the pharaoh in a pose of relaxation, with his hands resting on his knees and with his eyes set on the rising sun.

Next, the road to Aswan with different stops.

We arrive to Edfu and visited the TEMPLE OF EDFU, dedicated to the god Horus, it is the largest after the Temple of Karnak and one of the best preserved in the country. The walls of the temple have rich inscriptions that provide important information about the time of its construction, providing details not only about the temple, but also about mythology, religion and the way of life in Ancient Egypt.

Continue to Kom Ombo, visit the TEMPLE OF KOM OMBO and the Corcodilo Museum, built under the orders of Ramses II, the only one dedicated to two divinities: the gods Sobek and Horus the Elder, and consists of two entrances, two hypostyle rooms and two shrines exactly the same. In the temple of Kom Ombo you can visit the chapel of Hator and see mummies of crocodiles, clay coffins and spectacular reliefs on the walls.

Finally, arrival in Aswan and transfer to the hotel.

Day 10: ASUÁN – ABU SIMBEL(PHILAE TEMPLE - TEMPLE OF ISIS - KALABSHA TEMPLE - AMADA TEMPLE) FULL BOARD

Breakfast and transfer to visit the TEMPLE OF PHILAE or as it is known as The Pearl of the Nile, dedicated to the goddess Isis, goddess of love. The temple located on a separate island on the Nile River, where, according to the myth, the goddess Isis took refuge and rebuilds her beloved Osiris when he was killed by his brother and dismembered, distributing his parts throughout the country. After the construction of the Aswan dam, the temple was submerged in the water of the Nile and thanks to a proposal from UNESCO, recovering thousands of artifacts that were underwater and moved stone by stone to its current location, the island of Agilkia.

On the island you can see several constructions among which the imposing TEMPLE DEDICATED TO ISIS especially stands out, although you can also see other buildings of great value such as the Temple of Hathor, the Gate of Trajan, or the pylons that are at the entrance of the complex.

Then, transfer to the temple of Wadi El Seboua, the complex of Wadi el Suboua consists of three temples: the temple of Ramses II, where you can see the remains of the colossal statues, several smaller statues and some columns of interest; the temple of Dakka, dedicated to Tot, the deity and the temple of Maharraqa,

Also, transfer to visit the TEMPLE OF KALABSHA, the construction of this temple dates back to the first “early” Roman period around 30 BC when it was built for the worship of the god Mandulis, who was the sun god of Nubia. The temple was built on the ruins of a sanctuary for King Amenhotep II. The design of the temple is the most popular design in that period of the Ptolemaic period

Our last stop of the day will be to the TEMPLE OF AMADA, it is the oldest of all the monuments that are located around Lake Nasser. It was built by Tutimosis II and his son to record their military victories.

Day 11: ABU SIMBEL - ASUÁN - CAIRO(TEMPLE OF ABU SIMBEL - SLEEPING TRAIN) FULL BOARD

In the early morning, picnic breakfast and transfer by road to visit the Temple of Abu Simbel.

The TEMPLE OF ABU SIMBEL, a complex consisting of two temples carved into the rock, one of them is dedicated to Ramses II and the other to Nefertari, his first wife and his favorite. The complex is made up of two temples. The Great Temple to the gods Ra-Horakty, Ptah and Ramses II deified, and the Minor Temple to the goddess Hathour and Queen Nefertari, Ramses’ favorite wife. The temple has four colossi sitting flanking the entrance, two on each side, representing Ramses II on his throne, under these gigantic figures there are smaller statues representing the enemies conquered by Ramses. There are more statues representing several family members and some protective gods and symbols of power. Passing between the two colossi you access the interior of the temple, which is decorated with engravings that show Ramses and Nefertari paying homage to the gods.

Return to Aswan and at the agreed time, transfer to the train station to return to Cairo.

Day 12: ASUÁN - CAIRO(NATIONAL MUSEUM OF EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATION - KHAN EL-KHALILI - AL MOEZ STREET) HALF BOARD

Arrival in Cairo and transfer to the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATION and the Royal Mummies Room. It is the first museum dedicated to the entire Egyptian civilization.
