Kom Ombo is one of the cities that stands out the most on the banks of the Nile River, it is located 40 km north of the city of Aswan. Originally, it was a settlement called Nubt, from the Egyptian meaning the City of Gold. Due to its location, it enjoyed control over the trade routes that ran from Nubia through the Nile Valley.
The reason behind the city’s prominence today is the existence of prominent tourist attractions, especially its magnificent temple, dedicated to the god Horus, with more than 2,000 years of history in its stones.
